Some farewells

I worked with three groups of Spanish soldiers during my tour, but only the last group figured out that I spoke a child's version of Spanish. My last few weeks were spent jabbering away like an illiterate twelve-year-old whenever I was with them. The Spanish officers I met became great friends--I was honored to work alongside them in Afghanistan.

The second picture is the last one of me in Kabul. . . I'm about to take my first helicopter ride. The helicopter was Huey, the same manufacturer of the helos my dad flew in Vietnam. Hi Dad!
