Friends and tide pools...

Last weekend the kids and I drove down to Carlsbad to stay with some good friends and enjoy a little time away. They have a lovely home, which is the kind of place you get to and never want to leave! But we did venture out to drive a short distance to a beach with some amazing tide pools. We saw starfish, a brittle star (my first time seeing one outside of an aquarium), a sea slug, and lots of hermit crabs. We went in the late afternoon, and so were there to watch the sun set and the light change. Enjoy the pictures!
